Key Responsibilities Set up and operate EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) machines according to job specifications. Select and install appropriate electrodes, fixtures, and tooling for various machining tasks. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine machining requirements and parameters. Monitor EDM process, adjust settings, and troubleshoot common operational issues to maintain quality and efficiency. Perform in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring tools to ensure adherence to blueprints. Conduct routine maintenance on EDM machines, including cleaning, filter replacement, and dielectric fluid management. Maintain accurate production records, quality logs, and report any discrepancies or machine malfunctions. Recommended Qualifications 2+ years of hands-on experience operating Wire or Sinker EDM machines in a manufacturing environment. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Demonstrated ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot EDM machinery, including electrode selection and workholding. Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators for quality inspection. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve common machine and process issues. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational program or apprenticeship in machining is preferred.
