Read and interpret blueprints, G-code, and technical drawings. Load raw materials and unload finished parts from the machine. Monitor machine operation, detect malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments. Perform in-process quality inspections using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, comparators). Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine alarms or production issues. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Recommended Qualifications 2+ years of direct experience operating and setting up CNC Swiss-type lathes (e.g., Star, Citizen, Tsugami). Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, GD&T, and G-code/M-code. Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators) for in-process quality control. Ability to perform tool changes, offsets, and minor program adjustments to maintain part specifications. Experience troubleshooting machine alarms, common machining issues, and maintaining tight tolerances. Bonus Qualifications Advanced metrology experience (e.g., CMM, optical comparator). Proficiency in G-code programming/editing for minor program adjustments or optimization. Experience performing preventative maintenance or light machine repair. Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or 5S.
