Key Responsibilities Develop and refine product designs using CAD software, adhering to engineering principles. Conduct design analysis, including FEA, to optimize performance, strength, and manufacturability. Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs). Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless design implementation. Select appropriate materials and components, considering cost, availability, and performance requirements. Manage prototyping, testing, and validation of new and revised designs. Troubleshoot design-related manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field. Expert proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) for 3D modeling and 2D drafting. Strong understanding of diverse manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, additive manufacturing) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles. Demonstrated experience in material selection, properties, and their application in product design for manufacturing environments. Proven ability to manage the full product design lifecycle, from concept development and prototyping to production support and continuous improvement. Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail in technical design and documentation. Bonus Qualifications Experience with advanced simulation tools (e.g., FEA, CFD) for design validation. Hands-on experience with prototyping, machining, or fabrication techniques. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies. Proficiency in scripting or programming for design automation (e.g., CAD APIs, Python).
