Plumbing Apprentice

Simpson Plumbing is a prominent plumbing contractor catering to commercial, residential, industrial, service, and agricultural clients throughout Southern Alberta. We prioritize safety, ongoing education, and superior craftsmanship. We are seeking a dedicated Plumbing Apprentice eager to enhance their abilities and advance with our organization.

Primary Duties:

  • Support journeyman plumbers in installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems.

  • Measure and cut pipes; thread and bend them as needed.

  • Conduct tests on pipelines for leaks using air or water pressure gauges.

  • Identify plumbing problems and propose effective fixes.

  • Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications accurately.

  • Keep detailed job records; liaise effectively with clients and site managers.

  • Transport materials; load/unload tools/equipment safely.

  • Prepare work areas; clean up job sites post-completion; manage tools/materials responsibly.

  • Adhere strictly to safety guidelines, company standards, and industry regulations.

  • Operate solo or as part of a team based on project requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in construction or plumbing is advantageous but not mandatory.

  • Must be enrolled in a Plumber Apprenticeship program.

  • Physically capable of heavy lifting along with frequent bending/kneeling activities.

  • Adaptable to work in diverse settings/environments comfortably.

  • Strong dedication to learning with excellent work ethic.

  • A valid driver’s license along with reliable transportation is preferred.

    • Effective communication skills essential for teamwork.
