Registered Nurse (RN)

SI Staffing has a travel job opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with our client in Pittsburgh, PA.

15 weeks contract/40 hours per week guaranteed.

Registered Nurse Responsibilities:

• Plans and manages patient care according to each patient’s needs.

• Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition.

• Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration.

• Provides routine care for patients.

• Observe patients’ health, Reviews medical charts.

• Assists physicians and registered nurses.

• Communicate with patients and their families.

• Performs standard diagnostic procedures including EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, PFT, and Doppler.

• Prepares specimens for lab courier.

• Administers medications.

• Provides wound care.

• Prepares and administers injections and/or enemas.

• Assists with patient comfort.

•  Monitors catheters

Required Qualifications:

• RN/LPN Qualifications / Skills

• Medical knowledge and Knowledge of infection control practices

• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules

• Patience, Compassion, Kindness and Empathy

• Leadership and Critical thinking skills

• Stamina and physical endurance

• Observational skills

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Completion of state state-approved training program (generally in the form of a diploma, certificate, or associate degree)

• Valid Pennsylvania RN/LPN license

• BLS certification

• 1-2 years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse or LPN
