Powder Coat Manager Position

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Powder Coat Manager to oversee our specialized powder coating operations. As a pivotal role within our company, the right candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of powder coat projects, from estimation through execution, and ensuring the highest level of quality control throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:

- Accurately estimate costs for powder coating-only jobs.
- Oversee the management and coordination of such projects from start to finish.
- Provide estimates for powder coating components in conjunction with ISA specifications.
- Handle procurement duties including ordering all necessary powders, spare parts, and chemicals required for operations.
- Efficiently manage scheduling within our internal powder coating departments to optimize workflow.
- Liaise with logistics teams to organize timely collection and delivery of goods requiring powder coating services.
- Maintain departmental profit & loss statements and contribute actively during management meetings.
- Collaborate closely with lead staff members on production planning schedules.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) reporting directly to the Plant Manager to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
- Facilitate daily team briefings aimed at bolstering communication across your department's workforce.

Continuous Improvement:
- Drive process enhancements by championing continuous improvement initiatives in your area's workflow processes.
- Analyze performance gaps and create tailored training programs that bolster team capabilities.

Quality Management:
- Establish protocols for workspace organization pre-and post-processing of parts by staff members.
Troubleshoot any operational issues related to equipment functionality as needed.

Administrative Duties:
Assess quotations meticulously against budgets, bills of materials (BOM), routing accuracy; take charge in approving these components as required.
Proactively manage order updates on a daily basis ensuring due dates are adhered to consistently.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
Develop new SOPs where necessary while updating existing ones; guarantee comprehensive training is provided so that all staff can execute their tasks proficiently according to established procedures.

Maintenance Coordination:
Schedule regular maintenance activities for all equipment along the powder coat line which includes but is not limited to: general upkeep of wash systems; chemical tank pumping schedules; maintaining oil separator tanks both batch-wise and line-wise; oven maintenance plans; as well as managing air filtration systems within PC booths.

Qualifications & Skills:

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in industrial painting or coatings management with proven leadership skills. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is highly desired alongside strong organizational capabilities. Excellent communication skills are essential given this role involves coordinating across various departments while also leading a dedicated team towards achieving operational excellence.
