Position Overview

We are seeking an energetic, experienced Preschool Teacher to guide young learners through an engaging curriculum that promotes their development. In this position, you will be the lead educator—supporting teaching staff, building strong family relationships, and creating enjoyable daily experiences for every child.

Primary Responsibilities

• Establish a safe yet engaging environment for children aged 2–5 years

• Develop lesson plans aligned with developmental goals tied to our unique Little Scholars curriculum

• Assess each child's progress while maintaining transparent communication with families

• Lead your classroom team (including assistant teachers) with kindness and professionalism

• Cultivate positive relationships with parents/guardians

• Ensure compliance with NYC Department of Health (DOHMH) Article 47 regulations

• Collaborate with the Educational Director and colleagues to ensure uniformity across classrooms

• Participate in ongoing professional development activities including team meetings

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required

• Preferably holding or working towards New York State Teacher Certification (Birth–Grade 2)

• Minimum two years of leadership experience in preschool settings or childcare environments

• Strong knowledge of age-relevant teaching strategies

• Excellent classroom management skills along with strong interpersonal abilities

  • A genuine passion for early childhood education paired with a commitment to continuous learning

  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it
