Position Overview

We are on the lookout for an experienced, enthusiastic Preschool Teacher to lead our students through an enriching curriculum suited to their developmental needs. As the classroom mentor, you will inspire assistant teachers, forge strong connections with families, and provide children with meaningful daily experiences that spark joy.

Primary Responsibilities

• Cultivate a safe yet stimulating environment for children aged 2–5

• Design lesson plans that align with developmental milestones using Little Scholars’ innovative curriculum

• Monitor each child’s growth while maintaining open communication with families

• Guide the classroom team (including assistants) with clarity and warmth

• Maintain respectful dialogue with parents or guardians

• Adhere to NYC Department of Health regulations

• Collaborate closely with Educational Director and peers for seamless educational delivery

• Engage in ongoing professional growth opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related discipline

• New York State Teaching Certification (Birth–Grade 2) or working towards it preferred

• At least two years as a lead or co-lead teacher in preschool settings

• Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices

• Excellent classroom management abilities

• Passionate about early childhood education; committed to continuous learning

  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred
