Business Manager (Uganda/East Africa)

Position Overview:

Job Title: Business Manager - I.T. and Medical Devices

Location: Kampala, Uganda (East Africa)

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement business strategies to drive growth and enhance the organization's impact on saving lives.

  • Collaborate with locals and U.S. senior leadership to define business objectives aligned with the ITW's mission, emphasizing the integration of I.T., O.T., and medical devices in healthcare.

2.      Market Analysis:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the healthcare sector's I.T., O.T., and Medical Devices.

  • Stay informed about the I.T., O.T., and medical device landscape in Uganda and East Africa.

3.      Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations to further the ITW's mission, with a focus on bridging the gap between I.T., O.T., and Medical Devices.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and industry partners.

4.      Tech-Marketing:

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote ITW solutions and medical devices by emphasizing their impact on saving lives and fostering collaboration between I.T. and O.T.

  • Use digital marketing tools and platforms (such as social media) to reach target audiences effectively.

5.      Sales Experience:

  • Leverage sales expertise to drive revenue growth and secure partnerships, emphasizing the life-saving capabilities of ultrasound equipment and other medical devices and the integration of I.T. and O.T.

  • Engage with potential clients, presenting the value proposition of I.T. and medical device solutions in the context of saving lives and bridging the IT-OT gap.

6.      Product Knowledge:

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of I.T. solutions and medical devices relevant to the healthcare sector.

  • Provide technical insights to clients and internal teams, emphasizing the life-saving potential of ultrasound equipment and the importance of IT-OT integration.

7.      Financial Management:

  • Oversee budgetary planning and financial performance, ensuring alignment with the ITW mission to save lives.

  • Analyze financial data and propose strategies for cost optimization and sustainable growth.

8.      Team Leadership:

  • Lead and inspire cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment focused on I.T., O.T., and Medical devices

  • Mentor and guide team members, promoting professional development.

9.      Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with local and regional regulations related to I.T., O.T., and medical devices, with specific attention to the integration of I.T. and O.T.

  • Stay abreast of changes in Uganda and East Africa legislation and industry standards, emphasizing ethical practices.

10.  Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports on business performance, market trends, and key metrics, focusing on I.T., O.T., and Medical Devices aspects.

  • Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and guide strategic initiatives in bridging the gap between I.T. and O.T.

Requirements:

  • BA or equivalent degree in Business Management or a related field. Preferably MBA

  • Proven experience in a business management role, preferably in the I.T. and medical device sectors, with a focus on Tech-Marketing and Sales.

  • Strong understanding of the I.T. industry, medical devices, and the healthcare sector in Uganda and East Africa.

  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing marketing strategies and driving sales initiatives, particularly in contexts related to saving lives and bridging the IT-OT gap.

  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a non-profit environment.

  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in Uganda and East Africa, with specific attention to IT-OT integration.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Willingness to travel within the region as needed.
