Carpenter/Laborer

Good-Men Roofing & Construction is seeking experienced Carpenters, Drywall Installers, Drywall Finishers, Framers, and General Laborers to join our construction team at NAWS China Lake.

Good-Men Roofing & Construction is a San Diego based commercial general contractor focused on providing the highest quality construction, roofing, and operations and maintenance services to clients. Our clients include NAVFAC, US Army Corps of Engineers, and various commercial entities. Our goal is to complete projects ahead of schedule and within budget by utilizing the expertise of all members of the team to the fullest.

Responsibilities:

• Install foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as: wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics, and composites of multiple materials

• Measure and arranges materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from Project Superintendent

• Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws

• Use various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects

• Ensure the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed

• Erect and dismantle scaffolding

• Fit and install windows and doors

• Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills:

• Ability to understand directions and read blueprints

• 2+ years of experience as a skilled carpenter, drywall technician, framer, or general laborer required

• Experience working with different carpentry materials, and understanding of carpentry techniques/methods of installation construction

• Good understanding of basic math

• Ability to lift heavy objects 50+ lbs.

• Walking/Standing/Bending for long periods of time

• Required to pass a background check for base access

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (Good-Men Roofing participates in E-Verify)

• Experience with government construction projects preferred
