DEVEREUX GWINNETT PROGRAM
We are excited to announce we have broken ground on a brand new campus! Due to Devereux Georgia's history of success in treating victims since 2009, the State has chosen to use Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health for their newly approved treatment program. The 24-bed program is a Child Caring Institution (Group Home) for victimized youth between the ages of 12 and 17.
Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health provides services for children and families to ensure a community without abuse, neglect and abandonment, so all children grow to their full potential. Based out of Lawrenceville, GA, the Assistant Principal is responsible for:
- Assisting in overseeing general operations of the school; serving as the Testing Coordinator for our school overseeing the testing/assessment process.
- Providing supervision and support to all education personnel, and providing required data entry/signatures for multiple districts’ electronic systems.
- Supporting the alignment of curriculum, quality control for teacher documentation (such as treatment team summaries, educational assessments, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Education or higher degree. Must have Leadership Certification or working toward certification
EXPERIENCE: Three to five years of experience in an educational setting to include leadership, preferably with individuals with mental disabilities and at-risk youth.
Knowledge and Understanding of:
- Cognia (formerly AdvancED)
- State FET’s
- Teachers Certifications Rules and Regulations
- Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE)
- Title I
- Teacher Keys Effectiveness System (TKES)
- Leader Keys Effectiveness System (LKES)
- Georgia Milestones – End of Grade (EOG) and End of Course (EOC) Assessments
Other Requirements:
- Valid Driver's license
- Must be able to complete a one week new hire orientation class (Monday - Friday); hours are approximately 9:00am to 5:30 PM each day
- Successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings which include: Drug Screen, Physical, Physical Abilities Test, TB Test and Influenza Vaccine
