Job description

What sets Ball Homes apart from other companies? We have a VERY limited after hours on call system where our techs and supers rotate through being on call, averaging out at you being on call two days every six to eight months!

We are seeking applicants with experience in plumbing, minor electrical, drywall, and more to join the maintenance team. We have positions available at, The Artisan, RmLexington, Brookstone Apartments, and The Marq

WORK HOURS:

8:00am until 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Overtime as requested and approved by supervisor. Limited after hours on call as needed.

JOB SUMMARY:
Repair and maintain rental properties and ensure that Ball Homes customers receive exceptional customer service. Repair all work orders to customer satisfaction and to company quality standards within an appropriate time frame.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handle general plumbing issues such as commodes, stop ups, faucet leaks, clean drains, replace or repair hot water heaters, thermostats, and heating elements.

  • Using the pre-lease checklist, go through vacant units.

  • General repairs (i.e. drywall) as needed.

  • Repair roof leaks and other water leaks.

  • Replace or repair electrical switches, outlets, GFI outlets, and circuit breakers.

  • Maintain pool area and keep clear of debris.

  • Repair or replace appliances such as garbage disposals, dishwashers, stoves, and refrigerators.

  • Keep A/C units functioning. Check for leaks, change filters, and clean coils.

  • Organize and keep shop clean, also run compactor.

  • Repair and install doors and windows.

  • Perform monthly property inspections.

  • Snow removal from sidewalks as needed.

  • Other duties as needed or requested by supervisors.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • High school education/GED

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of all power tools used for advanced carpentry.

  • Broad construction/maintenance background.

  • Ability to positively interact with customers and/or co-workers.

  • Daily interactions with residents, co-workers, and supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION:

  • Be able to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects (i.e. water heaters).

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in awkward positions.

  • Work outside in all weather conditions.

PROPER ATTIRE:
Uniform shirts and jacket provided. Must wear or use non-scuff and non-slip safety shoes, leather gloves, safety goggles, dust mask, and other safety equipment as required for job site safety.

Salary: From $19.00 per hour
