Our European Service Center is a vibrant hub of over 480 employees, dedicated to delivering excellence to our internal clients through diverse processes and services related to the insurance business. We are currently seeking an experienced and visionary Operations Business Unit Manager to lead a key unit within our dynamic team in Porto!

About the Role & Your Impact

As the Operations Business Unit Manager, you will be a strategic leader responsible for the overall performance, efficiency, and growth of a critical operational unit. You will drive continuous improvement, ensure high-quality service delivery, and foster a culture of excellence within your team. This role is crucial in expanding our operational capabilities and supporting our ambitious growth plans across European markets.

You will leverage your leadership acumen and operational expertise to manage complex processes, optimize workflows, and deliver outstanding results for our internal clients. Your ability to navigate an international environment, coupled with your language skills, will be key to your success.

Your Future Mission as Operations Business Unit Manager

Your responsibilities will be broad and impactful, including:

  • Strategic Leadership & Management: Lead and inspire a significant operational unit, defining strategic objectives and ensuring their successful execution in alignment with the company's broader goals.
  • Operational Performance: Oversee all aspects of daily operations within your unit, ensuring the highest levels of efficiency, quality, and reliability in service delivery. Implement robust performance metrics and actively monitor KPIs.
  • Team Development & Empowerment: Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team. Foster a collaborative and engaging work environment that encourages growth, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Process Optimization & Innovation: Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and innovation to enhance operational effectiveness and client satisfaction. Drive the implementation of best practices.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including other business units, IT, and compliance teams, to ensure seamless cross-functional collaboration.
  • Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure all operational activities within your unit adhere to regulatory requirements and internal policies, effectively managing operational risks.
  • Budget Management: Manage the operational budget for your unit, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality or service levels.
  • Market Expansion Support: Play a key role in supporting the expansion of our services into new European markets, adapting operational processes to meet diverse regional needs.

As Our New Operations Business Unit Manager, You Must Have:

  • Proven Leadership: Extensive experience in a Business Unit Manager or similar senior operational leadership role.
  • Language Proficiency:
    • English: Fluency (C1-C2) – essential for a global environment.
    • French: B2 proficiency – to effectively engage with French-speaking teams and market insights.
    • Additional Languages (Italian, Spanish, German): Considered a significant plus.
  • Sector Knowledge: Demonstrated know-how in the automotive sector is highly desirable.
  • Operational Acumen: Strong understanding of complex operational processes, with a proven track record of optimizing workflows and driving efficiency.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically, identify opportunities, and translate vision into actionable plans.
  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and decisive approach to challenges.
  • Communication & Influence: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving, and multicultural environment.
  • Education: A relevant university degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
