  • Estimated Compensation: $37.40 - $43.27 per hour (negotiable).
  • Type of Employment: Full-Time, 40 hours a week.

  • Paid Time Off per Year: Up to 80 hours per year, occurring on day one.
  • Sick Leave per Year: Up to 56 hours per year, occurring on day one.

Summary of Duties

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for diagnosing and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in patients of all ages. The SLP will develop individualized treatment plans, provide therapy, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Must hold a current Speech Language Pathologist license in the state of New Mexico.
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation certified, in accordance with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Skills: Strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Attributes: Compassionate, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' speech, language, communication, and swallowing abilities. Use standardized tests and clinical observations to diagnose disorders.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results. Set realistic goals and monitor patient progress.
  • Therapy: Provide direct therapy to patients, using evidence-based techniques and interventions. Address speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about communication strategies, therapy techniques, and home exercises. Provide guidance on how to support the patient's progress.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Documentation:Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Ensure compliance with all documentation standards.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures. Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a safe and clean environment.
