Control System Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret project mechanical, plumbing, and electrical plans, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), specifications, and customer requirements.
• Produce comprehensive design packages using AutoCAD, EPLAN, and Microsoft Office Suite, including:
• Panel layout and design drawings.
• System wiring diagrams.
• Equipment schematics and P&IDs.
• Network layout and wiring diagrams.
• Instrumentation and panel location drawings.
• Material selection, tagging, and creation of a Bill of Materials/Instrument List.
• Device and equipment schedules.
• Startup sheet development.
• Provide technical support to the project field team, ensuring successful implementation and troubleshooting of designs.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent.
• Degree may be offset by 3+ years of previous experience in a similar industry.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD software.
• Understanding of HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of low voltage systems and electrical theory.
• Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and P&IDs.
• Familiarity with different PLC hardware, including Rockwell and Siemens.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive influence and ability to work on a team or independently as a self-starter.
• Capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with Bluebeam software.
• Experience with EPLAN software.
• Knowledge of control sensor and device selection, including valves and dampers.
