Control System Design Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret project mechanical, plumbing, and electrical plans, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), specifications, and customer requirements.
- Produce comprehensive design packages using AutoCAD, EPLAN, and Microsoft Office Suite, including:
- Panel layout and design drawings.
- System wiring diagrams.
- Equipment schematics and P&IDs.
- Network layout and wiring diagrams.
- Instrumentation and panel location drawings.
- Material selection, tagging, and creation of a Bill of Materials/Instrument List.
- Device and equipment schedules.
- Startup sheet development.
- Provide technical support to the project field team, ensuring successful implementation and troubleshooting of designs.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent.
- Degree may be offset by 3+ years of previous experience in a similar industry.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD software.
- Understanding of HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of low voltage systems and electrical theory.
- Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and P&IDs.
- Familiarity with different PLC hardware, including Rockwell and Siemens.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive influence and ability to work on a team or independently as a self-starter.
- Capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with Bluebeam software.
- Experience with EPLAN software.
- Knowledge of control sensor and device selection, including valves and dampers.
