Performing Arts Teacher - Part-time - Prestigious Mixed Secondary - Kensington

A vibrant and creative Mixed Secondary School in Kensington is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Performing Arts Teacher to join our team on a part-time, fixed-term basis. We are looking for an educator who can inspire and develop students' talents in drama, theatre studies, and performance skills.

About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring Performing Arts lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students, focusing on GCSE curriculum requirements.
  • Plan and deliver lessons that incorporate a variety of drama techniques, theatre studies, and performance skills, including acting, improvisation, directing, and stagecraft.
  • Assess student progress through performances, presentations, written work, and participation in rehearsals and productions.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Performing Arts curriculum, ensuring it is engaging and relevant to students' interests and aspirations.
  • Organize and lead extracurricular activities, such as drama clubs, rehearsals for school productions, and participation in local theatre festivals, to enhance student learning and provide performance opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Music and Art, to create interdisciplinary projects and performances.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in Performing Arts, Drama, Theatre Studies, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Performing Arts or Drama to GCSE level, with a focus on both practical and theoretical aspects of the subject.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and performance skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • A passion for fostering creativity, confidence, and self-expression in young people through the performing arts.
  • Experience in directing school productions and working with students of diverse abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the wider life of the school.
