Drama Teacher - Part-time - High Achieving Girls’ School - Richmond

A prestigious Girls’ School in Richmond is seeking a dedicated and creative Drama Teacher to join our team on a part-time, fixed-term basis. We are looking for an educator who can inspire students to explore their dramatic talents, develop their performance skills, and foster a lifelong appreciation for theatre.

About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Drama lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students, focusing on GCSE curriculum requirements.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate a variety of dramatic techniques, theatre studies, and performance skills, including acting, improvisation, and stagecraft.
  • Facilitate student-led performances, workshops, and productions, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and practical application of skills.
  • Assess student progress through performances, presentations, written work, and participation in rehearsals and productions, providing detailed and constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Drama curriculum, ensuring it aligns with current industry trends and best practices in drama education.
  • Organize and lead extracurricular activities, such as drama clubs, rehearsals for school productions, and participation in theatre festivals, to enhance student learning and provide performance opportunities.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in Drama, Theatre Studies, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Drama to GCSE level, with a focus on both practical and theoretical aspects of the subject.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and performance skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • A passion for fostering creativity, confidence, and self-expression in young women through drama.
  • Experience in directing school productions and working with students of diverse abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the wider life of the school.
