About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Geography lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, following relevant examination specifications.
  • Plan and prepare high-quality lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students are challenged and supported in their geographical understanding.
  • Utilize a range of teaching methods and resources, including geographical information systems (GIS), fieldwork, case studies, and current events, to enhance student learning.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support individual learning journeys, fostering a deep understanding of geographical concepts and skills.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Geography examinations, ensuring they have a strong understanding of assessment criteria and geographical methodologies.
  • Contribute to the development of the Geography curriculum and resources, integrating current geographical research and environmental issues.
  • Foster a love of geography in students, encouraging them to develop their analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, and to appreciate the interconnectedness of the world.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment, and to contribute to the wider academic and extracurricular life of the school.
  • Organize and lead fieldwork trips and geographical investigations, promoting hands-on learning and environmental awareness.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Geography, including human and physical geography, and GIS.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including A-Level.
  • Experience in preparing students for GCSE and A-Level Geography examinations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • A passion for geography and a commitment to fostering environmental awareness and global citizenship.
  • Ability to organize and lead fieldwork and geographical investigations.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
