About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging French lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, following relevant examination specifications.
  • Plan and prepare high-quality lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students are challenged and supported in their language acquisition.
  • Utilize a range of teaching methods and resources, including authentic materials, cultural immersion activities, and language technology, to enhance student learning.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support individual learning journeys, fostering a deep understanding of French language and culture.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level French examinations, ensuring they have a strong understanding of assessment criteria and linguistic methodologies.
  • Contribute to the development of the French curriculum and resources, integrating current linguistic research and cultural trends.
  • Foster a love of French language and culture in students, encouraging them to develop their communication, analytical, and intercultural skills, and to appreciate the diversity of French-speaking communities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment, and to contribute to the wider language and cultural life of the school.
  • Organize and lead language exchanges, cultural trips, and language-related activities, promoting immersive learning and cultural exchange.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in French, including linguistics, literature, and culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including A-Level.
  • Experience in preparing students for GCSE and A-Level French examinations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and linguistic skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • A passion for French language and culture and a commitment to fostering global citizenship.
  • Ability to organize and lead language exchanges and cultural trips.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
