System Engineer (Backup) - (up to $5,000 + AWS + PB + Medical)

Responsibilities Lead the deployment, configuration, and optimization of Hybrid IT solutions, including storage virtualization and hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI). Plan and manage project execution, including preparation of key documentation such as Statements of Work (SOW), build documents, and UAT plans. Design and implement end-to-end backup and data protection solutions across on-premises and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Collaborate with Project Managers and clients to ensure timely delivery of project milestones and deliverables. Conduct and lead Proof of Concept (POC) sessions to align with customer business and technical requirements. Drive and manage Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises to validate RTO and RPO targets. Provide technical expertise during implementation and support activities, including issue resolution and troubleshooting. Work closely with vendors to manage, track, and close technical support cases effectively. Requirements Diploma in IT or equivalent, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience implementing enterprise backup and data protection solutions (this is not a backup administrator role). Strong knowledge of server environments (Windows Server, Red Hat Linux), networking, and modern storage concepts including tiered, object, and distributed systems. Proficiency in enterprise backup platforms (e.g., Veeam, Cohesity, Commvault, Veritas, Rubrik) and cloud-native tools, with experience across both relational and NoSQL databases. Possess at least one recognised backup certification (e.g., VMCE, Commvault CCE/CCP, Cohesity, Rubrik), with strong communication skills and a proactive, customer-focused mindset.
