Travel Physical Therapist (PT) – Acute Care Hospital Amarillo, Texas Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (March 23, 2026 – June 22, 2026) Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,974.52 Schedule: Day Shift | 5x8 Hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) | 40 Hours Guaranteed Position Overview Trinity Healthcare Talent Services is seeking a Travel Physical Therapist (PT) for an acute care hospital in Amarillo, TX. The Physical Therapist will provide inpatient rehabilitation services across multiple hospital units, focusing on restoring mobility, improving functional independence, and supporting recovery for medically complex patients. This role offers exposure to a wide variety of cases including orthopedic, neurological, cardiac, and post-surgical patients in a fast-paced hospital environment. Facility Information Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital Total Beds: 450 Average Census: ~360 patients Trauma Level: Level III Trauma Center Units Covered: 7 inpatient floors Team Structure: 8–10 PTs and 6–8 PTAs daily Clinical Coverage Areas Therapists will provide care for patients in: ICU (medical, cardiac, surgical) Orthopedic and post-surgical units Neurology and stroke rehabilitation Oncology units General medical-surgical floors Key Responsibilities Perform patient evaluations and functional mobility assessments Develop individualized treatment plans Deliver therapeutic exercises, gait training, and mobility interventions Manage a daily caseload of approximately 10–12 patients Maintain productivity standards (~80%) Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including OT, ST, and case management Educate patients and families on recovery and discharge planning Required Qualifications Active Texas Physical Therapist License (pending accepted at submission) BLS Certification Minimum 1 year of acute care experience Strong clinical and documentation skills Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of experience (preferred per facility guidelines) Experience in trauma or high-acuity hospital settings Familiarity with Epic EMR Scheduling & Assignment Details 40 hours guaranteed per week Monday – Friday schedule Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Orientation: ~24 hours Modules completed onsite (non-billable) Important Notes Locals not accepted (must live >50 miles from facility) Maximum of 3 RTO days allowed (no holidays) No travel pairs or groups allowed Former permanent staff must be separated for at least 1 year Strong interdisciplinary collaboration across PT, OT, ST, and case management High-volume, fast-paced acute care environment Compliance Requirements Candidates must complete all onboarding and compliance requirements including: Active state licensure verification BLS certification Skills checklist and competency validation Completion of onsite orientation and required modules Why Consider This Assignment Competitive weekly compensation Work in a large Level III trauma center Exposure to diverse and complex patient populations Strong interdisciplinary team support Opportunity to enhance acute care and high-acuity clinical skills
