The Opportunity We are collaborating with multiple companies in Otsego seeking experienced NPI Engineers. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement manufacturing processes for new products, ensuring manufacturability and cost-effectiveness. Collaborate with R&D and Design teams to incorporate Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles. Lead pilot production runs and first article inspections, identifying and resolving manufacturing issues. Design, procure, and qualify manufacturing tools, fixtures, and equipment required for new product introduction. Generate and maintain comprehensive manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flows, and control plans. Drive continuous improvement initiatives during the NPI phase to optimize yield, quality, and efficiency. Facilitate the smooth transition of new products from development to mass production, ensuring stability and readiness. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering. 3+ years of experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) or Manufacturing Engineering in a production environment. Demonstrated experience applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles. Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and PLM systems. Strong understanding of manufacturing process development, validation, and lean methodologies.
