Key Responsibilities Develop and optimize laser welding processes and parameters for various materials and product designs. Troubleshoot and resolve complex laser welding issues, including equipment malfunctions and quality defects. Design, implement, and qualify laser welding fixtures, tooling, and automation solutions. Perform root cause analysis for weld failures and implement corrective and preventive actions. Manage the maintenance, calibration, and performance optimization of laser welding equipment and systems. Establish and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including work instructions and quality control plans. Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to integrate new products and improve existing laser welding applications. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. 3-5+ years of hands-on experience developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting industrial laser welding processes. Strong understanding of laser physics, beam delivery systems, and process parameters for various materials. Proficient in metallurgy, material weldability, and failure analysis of welded joints. Experience with process validation, statistical process control (SPC), and implementing quality control measures for laser welds. Ability to program, operate, and maintain industrial laser welding equipment and associated automation. Bonus Qualifications Experience with robotic integration for laser welding systems. Proficiency in advanced metrology or non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques for weld inspection. Demonstrated ability in designing or optimizing welding fixtures and tooling. Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis for process optimization.
