Incoming Inspection Technician | Byron Center, MI Salary Range: $42,000 - $65,000 depending on experience Are you a skilled professional with a passion for excelling in incoming inspection technician? The Opportunity We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Byron Center region seeking Incoming Inspection Technicians. Key Responsibilities Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components, and sub-assemblies. Verify incoming material documentation, including Certificates of Conformance (CoC) and test reports. Record inspection results accurately in designated quality management systems or logs. Identify and segregate non-conforming materials, initiating non-conformance reports (NCRs). Utilize and maintain various inspection tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Ensure proper identification and traceability of all inspected incoming materials. Collaborate with purchasing and production to resolve material discrepancies and quality issues. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges). Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and material specifications. Experience with documenting inspection results and identifying non-conformances. Basic understanding of quality control principles and relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001). Strong attention to detail and ability to identify visual and dimensional defects. Bonus Qualifications Experience operating or programming a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 13485 quality management systems. Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Prior experience with ERP systems for material transactions. Exposure to Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
