The Opportunity We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Cadillac region seeking CNC Mill Programmers. Key Responsibilities Develop and write CNC programs for 3-axis and 5-axis milling machines using CAD/CAM software. Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding devices for various machining operations. Create detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and operational instructions for machine operators. Simulate and verify CNC programs to ensure collision avoidance, optimize tool paths, and improve cycle times. Troubleshoot and debug programs on the machine, making necessary adjustments to achieve desired part quality and efficiency. Collaborate with design engineers and machinists to refine part designs and manufacturing processes. Maintain accurate documentation of all programs, revisions, and tooling specifications. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM) for toolpath generation. Strong understanding and ability to read, write, and edit G-code and M-code. Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Proven experience in programming multi-axis CNC milling machines for various materials. Knowledge of cutting tools, workholding, and machining strategies for optimal efficiency and quality. Bonus Qualifications Experience operating CNC mills and setting up tooling/fixtures. Proficiency in post-processor development or editing. Ability to design or contribute to workholding fixture solutions. Experience with advanced G-code simulation and verification software (e.g., Vericut).
