Key Responsibilities Develop and optimize CNC programs for milling machines using CAM software. Select appropriate cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining strategies. Create and maintain accurate NC programs, setup sheets, and tooling lists. Troubleshoot and debug programs during first-article runs and production. Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and machinists to refine processes. Ensure programs meet design specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. Perform post-processing and simulation to verify program accuracy and collision avoidance. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidCAM, Fusion 360) for 3-axis and multi-axis milling. Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming, with ability to perform manual edits. Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Demonstrated knowledge of tooling, workholding, material properties, and various machining strategies. Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in CNC mill programming within a manufacturing environment. Bonus Qualifications Experience with advanced CAM features such as 5-axis programming or complex surfacing. Proficiency in dedicated machining simulation and verification software (e.g., Vericut, NCSIMUL). Ability to design or specify custom workholding fixtures. Knowledge of post-processor development or modification.
