Key Responsibilities Develop CNC programs (G-code) for 3-axis and multi-axis milling machines using CAM software. Analyze engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications to determine optimal machining strategies. Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding devices for specific applications. Generate detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and operational instructions for machine operators. Simulate and verify CNC programs to ensure collision avoidance, optimize cycle times, and validate part accuracy. Troubleshoot and optimize existing CNC programs to improve efficiency, quality, and reduce scrap. Collaborate with design engineers, machinists, and quality control to refine part designs and manufacturing processes. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM). Strong understanding and ability to write/edit G-code and M-code. Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Demonstrated experience in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC milling machines. Knowledge of cutting tool selection, workholding strategies, and various material properties. Bonus Qualifications Experience with 5-axis CNC programming. Proficiency in a second CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX CAM, HyperMILL). Familiarity with CMM programming or metrology software. Experience with post-processor development or G-code simulation. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
