Key Responsibilities Process accurate and timely multi-state payroll for a manufacturing workforce, including complex overtime, shift differentials, and bonus calculations. Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws, including FLSA regulations relevant to manufacturing operations. Administer and maintain time and attendance systems, ensuring accurate time reporting for hourly employees and adherence to company policies. Manage and process all payroll deductions, garnishments, 401(k) contributions, and benefits-related withholdings. Reconcile payroll general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and assist with month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare and submit all required payroll tax filings (e.g., 941s, W-2s) and respond to tax notices promptly. Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, resolving discrepancies and providing clear explanations of pay and deductions. Recommended Qualifications 3+ years of experience processing full-cycle payroll for a high volume of employees, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with major payroll software (e.g., ADP, UKG, Paychex) and integrated timekeeping systems. In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws, FLSA, and other compliance requirements. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, calculations, and record-keeping. Demonstrated ability to reconcile payroll, resolve discrepancies, and generate various payroll reports. Experience handling complex pay structures common in manufacturing, including hourly rates, shift differentials, and overtime rules. Bonus Qualifications Experience with time and attendance systems common in manufacturing environments (e.g., UKG/Kronos, ADP eTime). Familiarity with payroll processing for unionized workforces or complex shift differentials. Understanding of how payroll impacts manufacturing cost accounting. Experience with an integrated ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor) for payroll functions.
