Weld Technician | Portage, MI Salary Range: $44,000 - $69,000 depending on experience Are you a skilled professional with a passion for excelling in weld technician? The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Portage seeking Weld Technicians who want more than a lateral move. Key Responsibilities Perform welding operations according to blueprints, specifications, and quality standards. Inspect and test welds for defects, ensuring adherence to safety and quality regulations. Operate and maintain welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, stick, and spot welders. Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, grinding, and fitting components. Troubleshoot welding issues and make necessary adjustments to equipment and procedures. Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to identify and implement process improvements. Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain accurate records of welding activities, materials used, and quality control checks. Recommended Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in welding is preferred. Proven experience as a welder or in a related manufacturing role. Knowledge of various welding techniques and materials (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick, aluminum, stainless steel). Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications. Proficiency in using welding equipment and tools, including safety procedures. Strong understanding of quality control standards and inspection techniques.
