Senior Electrical Engineer – Power Systems

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – Power Systems to lead the design and development of advanced power-electronics solutions from concept through production. In this high-impact role, you will drive innovation in AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion, develop high-reliability electrical systems, and play a key role in shaping next-generation power architectures for mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who thrives in complex design environments and enjoys solving challenging technical problems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and contribute to product strategy while ensuring designs meet performance, compliance, and reliability requirements. Duties Design and develop AC/DC and DC/DC switch-mode power supplies and power-management systems (medium and low voltage). Lead electrical design efforts from concept, development, testing, and manufacturing release. Support sales and business development by reviewing and contributing to technical proposals and solution designs. Identify and select components based on performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost. Lead initiatives to improve hardware reliability, maintainability, standardization, and cost efficiency. Ensure designs meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, and company compliance policies. Integrate emerging technologies into hardware designs and future product roadmaps. Modify and improve existing power-system designs and electrical circuitry. Translate customer and marketing requirements into effective electrical system architectures. Coordinate design activities across PCB layout, mechanical engineering, documentation, safety approvals, and manufacturing. Conduct root-cause analysis and troubleshooting for product failures and technical issues. Prepare engineering documentation including design descriptions, reports, and user support materials. Collaborate with and guide cross-functional engineering teams while communicating effectively with leadership, customers, and stakeholders. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or Physical Sciences. Minimum 5+ years of relevant industry experience in power systems or power electronics. 3–5+ years of experience with CAD and simulation tools used in electrical design. Experience working within ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality environments. Familiarity with MIL-Standards for afloat, ground, and airborne systems. Prior experience with Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) is required. Technical Skills Strong expertise in schematic design, PCB design, troubleshooting, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Hands-on experience designing and troubleshooting AC/DC power supplies, DC/DC converters, inverters, UPS systems, and power distribution systems to the component level. Knowledge of EMI/RFI mitigation and EMI/EMC compliance. Experience designing for thermal and environmental conditions such as temperature, vibration, humidity, and shock. Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles. Proficiency using engineering tools including multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, electronic loads, and thermal chambers. Experience writing test procedures and developing test fixtures. Proficiency with PCAD, Altium, and Microsoft Office tools. Leadership and Collaboration Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineering teams. Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across engineering, sales, manufacturing, and leadership teams. Work Location: In person
