Inspection Technician | Muskegon, MI Salary Range: $49,000 - $74,000 depending on experience Are you a forward-thinking professional with a passion for excelling in inspection technician? The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Muskegon seeking Inspection Technicians who want more than a lateral move. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough visual and dimensional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs to verify adherence to specifications. Document inspection results accurately, including non-conformances, and maintain detailed inspection records and reports. Identify and quarantine non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate rejection procedures. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions to determine inspection criteria. Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address quality issues and support root cause analysis efforts. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges). Ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications, including GD&T. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify visual and dimensional defects. Basic computer skills for data entry, reporting, and operating inspection software. High school diploma or GED; relevant technical certification or 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing inspection role. Bonus Qualifications Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies and data analysis software. Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) software or ERP systems for quality data management. Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt certification. Experience operating or programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) or other automated inspection equipment.
