Inspection Technician | Grand Rapids, MI Salary Range: $41,000 - $64,000 depending on experience Are you a meticulous professional with a passion for excelling in inspection technician? The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Grand Rapids seeking Inspection Technicians who want more than a lateral move. Key Responsibilities Perform visual and dimensional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs to verify specifications. Accurately document all inspection results, including acceptance, rejection, and detailed observations. Identify and report non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate containment and disposition procedures. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and quality control plans to ensure product compliance. Conduct first-article inspections, in-process checks, and final product audits. Maintain and perform basic calibration checks on inspection tools and equipment. Recommended Qualifications High School Diploma or GED; Associate's degree in a technical field preferred. 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality inspection role. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications. Demonstrated ability to use precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges). Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Bonus Qualifications Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and quality data analysis software. ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles. Proficiency in CMM programming (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso) or CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
