The Opportunity We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Lansing that are seeking skilled Lean Manufacturing Engineers. Key Responsibilities Lead and facilitate Lean initiatives, including Kaizen events, 5S, Standard Work, and Value Stream Mapping. Identify and eliminate waste (Muda) in manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and reduce costs. Design and implement optimized production layouts, workflows, and material handling systems. Develop, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of Lean improvements. Provide training and mentorship to manufacturing teams on Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes of production issues and implement sustainable solutions. Drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing operations. Recommended Qualifications Deep understanding and practical application of Lean manufacturing principles (e.g., VSM, 5S, Kaizen, JIT, Poka-Yoke). Proven experience in leading and implementing process improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in data analysis, root cause analysis, and problem-solving methodologies (e.g., A3, 8D, DMAIC). Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. Strong project management skills with the ability to drive cross-functional projects to completion. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher.
