Software Engineer with DevOps

DevOps Software Engineer | Kubernetes & Cloud Infrastructure Specialist (TS Clearance Required) We are seeking talented DevOps Software Engineers with 2-10 years of experience to join our mission-focused team supporting the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense. This role combines software development, cloud infrastructure, and DevSecOps expertise to design, build, and maintain cutting-edge containerized applications in secure government environments. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and deploy scalable applications in containerized cloud environments using Docker and Kubernetes Build and manage robust containerized systems with orchestration tools including Helm Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms Develop and optimize ETL pipelines for efficient data processing and workflow automation Configure and maintain message queuing systems such as RabbitMQ Write Python scripts to automate infrastructure management, deployment tasks, and operational processes Monitor system performance and implement improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to establish best practices for deployment and infrastructure Promote code quality, maintainability, and clarity through clean design and comprehensive documentation Enhance and modernize cloud architectures supporting critical defense and intelligence operations Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science , Engineering, or related technical field 2-10 years of experience building, deploying, and maintaining production software systems Proficiency with Linux/Unix operating systems (Rocky, RHEL, CentOS, or similar distributions) Strong programming skills in Python (preferred) or other modern languages such as C/C++ or Java Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools including Docker , Kubernetes , and Helm Solid understanding of DevSecOps principles and best practices Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent tools Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS , GovCloud, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Proficiency with version control using Git Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills CompTIA Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire) Active TS clearance required ; TS/SCI strongly preferred Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points) Programming & Development: Proficiency in multiple programming languages Experience with Python data science libraries (NumPy, pandas, SciPy) Development experience with RESTful microservices using FastAPI, Spring Boot, or similar frameworks Architecture & Modernization: Experience refactoring legacy systems into containerized or microservice architectures Strong understanding of vertical and horizontal scaling strategies Data & Messaging: Built and maintained ETL pipelines for data processing Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Apache Kafka Knowledge of database optimization and administration DevOps & CI/CD: Experience with Agile workflows using Jira and sprint methodologies Proficiency with quality and security scanning tools (SonarQube, NexusIQ, Trivy) Containers & Kubernetes: Deployed, maintained, and troubleshot applications in Kubernetes clusters Managed secure container registries and applied image hardening best practices Infrastructure & Cloud: Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation Used monitoring and observability tools including Prometheus , Grafana , or ELK stack to implement metrics and alerts Security & Compliance: Applied security best practices and government compliance requirements Domain & Certifications: Experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community mission systems Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) Compensation Annual Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000 USD, commensurate with experience and qualifications Why This Is a Great Opportunity This position offers the unique opportunity to work on mission-critical systems that directly support national security and defense operations.
