The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across DeWitt seeking Buyers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit. Key Responsibilities Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers. Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers while managing existing supplier relationships. Generate and issue purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of materials. Collaborate with production and planning to optimize inventory levels and prevent stockouts. Monitor market trends and commodity prices to inform strategic purchasing decisions. Resolve quality and delivery issues with suppliers to maintain production flow. Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and value engineering. Recommended Qualifications Proven experience in purchasing/procurement within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for purchasing and inventory management. Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract management skills. Ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, and Bills of Material (BOMs). Demonstrated understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, and inventory optimization.
