Key Responsibilities Source, evaluate, and select new suppliers for raw materials and components. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with vendors. Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of materials. Monitor inventory levels to optimize stock and prevent production delays. Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams on material specifications. Identify and implement cost reduction strategies without compromising quality or supply. Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements for purchased goods. Recommended Qualifications 3+ years of direct purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for procurement functions. Demonstrated strong negotiation and vendor relationship management skills. Ability to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and engineering drawings. Solid understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management, and logistics. Bonus Qualifications Experience with international sourcing and import/export logistics. Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies. Relevant professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CSCP, CPIM). Proficiency in advanced data analysis tools for spend analysis and supplier performance.
