The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Lansing seeking Controls Engineers who want more than a lateral move. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement PLC and HMI programs for automated manufacturing equipment. Provide expert-level troubleshooting and resolution for complex control system issues. Lead the commissioning and startup of new machinery and production lines. Optimize existing control systems for improved efficiency, reliability, and throughput. Create and maintain detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and software documentation. Ensure all control systems comply with safety standards and industry best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project execution and problem-solving. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Siemens) and HMI/SCADA system development. Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus). Experience with troubleshooting complex electrical and control systems, including motors, sensors, and actuators. Familiarity with robotic programming and integration (e.g., Fanuc, Kuka, ABB) in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of industrial safety standards and machine safeguarding principles (e.g., ANSI, OSHA, ISO 13849). Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical documentation. Bonus Qualifications Experience with industrial robotics programming (e.g., Fanuc, Kuka, ABB). Proficiency in SCADA systems design and implementation (e.g., Ignition, Wonderware, FactoryTalk View SE). Familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) integration and data management. Experience with industrial vision systems for quality control or guidance. Basic understanding of industrial network design and cybersecurity principles.
