Tooling Engineer | Allegan, MI Salary Range: $70,000 - $109,000 depending on experience Are you a skilled professional with a passion for designing and improving tooling for manufacturing processes? The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Allegan seeking Tooling Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and modify manufacturing tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures. Analyze and troubleshoot tooling-related production issues, implementing effective corrective actions. Optimize tooling performance, lifespan, and efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure tooling meets product specifications and manufacturing requirements. Specify and source appropriate tooling materials, components, and equipment. Manage tooling projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor coordination. Conduct tool trials, validations, and implement preventative maintenance programs. Recommended Qualifications Experience in the design, development, and improvement of tooling, molds, dies, or fixtures. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for tooling design and analysis. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, stamping, injection molding, or casting. Knowledge of various tooling materials, heat treatments, and surface finishes. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot tooling issues, implement corrective actions, and optimize performance. Bonus Qualifications Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification. Experience with Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling applications. Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software for advanced tool simulation. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent experience. Basic programming or scripting skills (e.g., Python, VBA) for automation or data analysis.
