APAC Lead Architect | Fashion Retailer | 55-65k

The Company Our client is a rapidly expanding digital commerce platform operating across Asia and the Middle East. The Team You will join a senior technology leadership team responsible for shaping the companys architecture strategy and engineering standards across the region. The team works closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to design scalable systems supporting web, mobile, and cloud-based platforms while ensuring performance, security, and reliability across all services. T he Role As the APAC Lead Architect, you will work closely with the Head of IT to define and execute the organizations technology vision and architectural roadmap. You will provide technical leadership across the full software development lifecycle—from architecture design and technical planning to development oversight, deployment, and optimization. The role involves guiding engineering teams, defining best practices for modern cloud-native architectures, and ensuring that platforms remain scalable, secure, and aligned with evolving business needs. The Requirements Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline 10+ years of experience in IT, including at least 3 years in technical leadership or architecture roles working on large-scale distributed systems Proven experience as a Technical Architect, Technical Lead, or Senior Engineering Leader Strong experience within the retail or e-commerce industry Deep understanding of the Shopify ecosystem and related integrations Strong knowledge of modern architecture paradigms including Microservices, event-driven architectures, SOA, serverless, and cloud-native designs Hands-on development experience with JavaScript / TypeScript frameworks such as React.js, Next.js, React Native, and Nest.js Solid experience building mobile applications with React Native for iOS and Android, including performance optimization, debugging, native module integration, and release management Strong expertise in system architecture design, technical diagrams, and technical documentation Deep understanding of web and mobile development with a strong focus on UI/UX quality Extensive experience managing AWS cloud infrastructure, including Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or CloudFormation) and automated DevOps / CI/CD pipelines Experience designing high-availability systems using AWS EKS/ECS, Docker, and Kubernetes Strong knowledge of APIs, system integrations, scalable networking technologies (load balancers, firewalls), and web security mechanisms Experience managing or mentoring distributed or remote engineering teams Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills Fluent English required; Cantonese and Mandarin strongly preferred Experience working in Agile environments; relevant cloud or architecture certifications are a plus Contact For more information or to apply, please send your CV to: angus.fan@unity-partners.com
