Key Responsibilities Design and develop new tooling, fixtures, and jigs for manufacturing processes. Perform maintenance, repair, and modification of existing production tooling. Troubleshoot tooling-related issues on the production floor to minimize downtime. Optimize tooling performance, efficiency, and lifespan through continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure tooling meets specifications and production needs. Select appropriate materials and manufacturing methods for tooling components. Conduct root cause analysis for tooling failures and implement corrective actions. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field 3+ years of experience in tooling design, development, or manufacturing engineering within a manufacturing environment Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam) Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, stamping, injection molding) and material science Demonstrated experience with GD&T principles and their application Ability to troubleshoot complex tooling issues and implement effective corrective actions Bonus Qualifications Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification. Experience with advanced simulation software (e.g., FEA, mold flow analysis). PMP certification or demonstrated experience leading complex tooling projects. Knowledge of additive manufacturing processes for rapid tooling or tooling repair.
