Chemical & Commodity Trader - (Sales)

An established global company in chemicals and related products is looking for a Chemical & Commodity Trader (Sales) to join their team in Malta. This role focuses on expanding international sales, increasing trading margins, building strategic customer relationships, and uncovering new commercial growth opportunities across diverse markets. This is an office-based role with flexible hours, offering a salary of up to €50K plus KPI. Role & Responsibilities Develop and implement sales and trading strategies for chemical products Build and manage relationships with customers, distributors, and industrial end-users worldwide Monitor market trends, geopolitical events, and price movements to support trading decisions Negotiate long-term contracts and spot deals to balance cost, risk, and supply continuity Ensure a high standard of customer service and collaborate closely with internal logistics and operations teams Assist with pricing strategies and sales planning based on demand forecasts and market analysis Maintain commercial risk management strategies in relation to price fluctuations, credit exposure, and market instability Negotiate and administer sales contracts to safeguard the Company’s commercial position Monitor contractual compliance, customer performance, payment terms, and credit insurance Analyse markets to identify growth opportunities and potential new markets Prepare sales reports, margin analysis, and market outlook briefings for senior management Education, Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience 5+ years’ experience in commodity trading, sales, or business development, ideally within the chemical sector Fluency in English at a C2/Native level, both written and spoken Strong commercial judgement with proven experience driving sales growth and margin optimisation Knowledge of international trade regulations and compliance, with strong analytical skills to convert market insights into sales strategies Results-driven, proactive approach to business development Experience preparing executive-level reports Extensive international travel flexibility to develop and maintain global customer relationships Excellent negotiation and time management skills, with a strong ability to meet deadlines About the Role Salary up to €50K + KPI-based bonus structure Office based in Sliema, Malta Relocation support Career growth opportunities Apply with your detailed CV, please. *JobMatchingPartner Limited is a recruitment agency licenced in Malta, EU with licence no EA00340-2024.
