Year 5 Teacher – Manchester

We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Year 5 Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Manchester, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Key Stage 2 teacher who is committed to helping pupils develop their academic skills, confidence, and independence in preparation for Year 6 and beyond. As a Year 5 Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the curriculum. You will provide both academic and pastoral support to pupils, ensuring a safe, structured, and stimulating classroom environment. Your role will also involve preparing pupils for the demands of upper Key Stage 2 and supporting their social and emotional development. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Year 5 curriculum Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress accurately Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEN and EAL Promote positive behaviour, independence, and resilience Prepare pupils for Year 6 and future academic challenges Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress Contribute to staff meetings, planning sessions, and school improvement initiatives Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) Have recent experience teaching in KS2, ideally Year 5 Be confident delivering the full KS2 curriculum Have excellent classroom management and organisational skills Be reflective, enthusiastic, and pupil-focused Be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing The school is located in Manchester, with excellent transport links and a welcoming, diverse community.
