Are you an experienced Year 6 Teacher ready to lead upper-KS2 learning from January 2026? We are working with a popular primary school in Havering to appoint a skilled Year 6 Teacher. The successful Year 6 Teacher will prepare pupils for transition, lead engaging curriculum sequences across reading, writing and mathematics, and coordinate targeted revision and booster sessions. This Year 6 Teacher will also support assessment cycles, contribute to moderation and help manage transition arrangements with local secondary partners. The appointment will begin January 2026, with induction and planning time scheduled prior to January 2026 so the Year 6 Teacher can start confidently. Position details Role: Year 6 Teacher — Havering Start date: January 2026 Contract: Permanent, Full-Time About the role The Year 6 Teacher will design ambitious lesson sequences that develop pupils’ independent learning and exam confidence, run small-group interventions to close gaps, and liaise with parents about progress and next steps. This Year 6 Teacher will be part of a collaborative phase team in Havering and will contribute to enrichment and pastoral programmes that support pupils’ wellbeing. Key responsibilities Deliver sequenced Year 6 lessons that combine curriculum depth with exam preparation and application. Use assessment data to set targets and deliver focused booster groups that accelerate progress. Plan transition activities and coordinate liaison with receiving secondary schools. Contribute to moderation, reporting and phase improvement planning across the school and Havering networks. Engage parents with clear communication on progress and strategies to support learning at home. Person specification Qualified teacher with strong upper-KS2 experience and a record of positive outcomes in Year 6. Confident in assessment, differentiation and running structured revision programmes. Excellent organisational skills, calm under pressure and able to lead effectively within a phase team. Committed to contributing to the school and wider Havering community. Ready to take up post January 2026, attending induction and planning prior to the spring term.
