We are seeking a confident, enthusiastic, and experienced Year 5 Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Cambridge, starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about Upper Key Stage 2 and enjoys delivering high-quality lessons that challenge and engage pupils across the curriculum. The Role As a Year 5 Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess lessons across all subjects of the national curriculum. You will foster resilience, independence, and positive learning behaviours, ensuring pupils are prepared for Year 6 and beyond. You will collaborate with teaching assistants, Key Stage 2 colleagues, and senior leaders to maintain high standards across the year group. Strong communication with parents and carers is an important part of the role to support pupil progress and wellbeing. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across the Year 5 curriculum Track pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs Differentiate learning for all pupils, including SEND and EAL learners Promote independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours Maintain a structured, inclusive, and positive classroom environment Collaborate with teaching assistants and Key Stage 2 colleagues Communicate effectively with parents and carers Participate in staff meetings, CPD, and school initiatives The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Have experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5 Be confident delivering literacy, numeracy, and foundation subjects Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable Show a strong commitment to inclusion and safeguarding Work effectively as part of a collaborative team Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply and will receive mentoring and structured support.
