Automation Engineer - Drives and Controls

Automation Engineer (80-100K)

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Create PLC programs using ladder editor, function block diagrams, flow charts, etc. for converting equipment and associated functions
  • Design and develop HMI applications
  • Design and review PLC network architecture
  • AC/DC drives configuration
  • Integration of Legacy drives, controls and equipment
  • Support the creation of technical product documentation and information
  • In-house testing of software and systems
  • Provide on-site assistance during system start-up and commissioning
  • Remote and on-site customer support
  • Interact with customers as required
  • Work closely with team members to complete projects and assignments

 Education and Experience: 

  • BSEE or MSEE with Controls background preferred
  • 3-7 years of engineering experience
  • Ability to travel 25-30% North America and International
  • Knowledge of AC/DC drive systems, PCs, Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLC
  • Strong understanding of industrial controls networks
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without restriction indefinitely 
  • Training: Must be willing to train at the NY plant initially for 6 months, then can work out of the CT plant
