Objective of the position:
Responsible for tracking all inbound freight coming from assigned vendors and coordinating with Material Planning & Transportation Operations to ensure there are no production disruptions. Identify possible critical part numbers or sequenced commodities that would impact, in the short term, the production efficiency due to vendor past due, material adjustment, or damage in the plant. Establish emergency plans in case a vendor does not have a recovery plan for stock replenishment. Analyze second sources such as Tier2, material transfer from other DTNA locations, or aftermarket options. Identify and select the most appropriate and cost-effective transportation and track the transit of the critical material. Analyze operations practices to determine process and cost improvement opportunities to prevent excess material and avoid obsolete part numbers.
