Job Coach

• Provide individualized job coaching and support at community-based employment sites.

• Develop and implement skill-building strategies tailored to the needs of each client.

• Assist clients with pre-employment preparation, job searching, interviewing, and onboarding.

• Assist with prospecting, networking and development to establish business partnerships in the assigned territory.

• Conduct task analysis and break down job duties into manageable components for learning.

• Identify and implement strategies to overcome learning and behavioral barriers in the workplace.

• Monitor and document client progress, work performance, and support needs.

• Communicate regularly with employers to provide education on disability awareness and ensure a supportive work environment.

• Deliver on-site job training, safety instruction, and coaching to ensure job retention.

• Coordinate with DARS counselors and other service providers to ensure a collaborative and person-centered approach.

• Provide follow-along services to monitor job stability and satisfaction.

• Develop natural supports in the workplace through engagement with supervisors and coworkers.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed both remote and community-based employment settings.

• Requires travel to job sites within the Roanoke-Christiansburg area.

• May require flexible scheduling, including occasional evening or weekend hours.
