We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Freight Agent to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and transportation management, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service and developing lasting relationships with clients. As a Freight Agent, you will be responsible for managing the movement of goods, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Duties

  • Manage the end-to-end logistics process, including supply chain management and transportation planning.

  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through effective account management and customer relationship management (CRM).

  • Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) to track shipments and optimize routes.

  • Conduct B2B sales activities, including lead generation and inside sales efforts to grow the client base.

  • Negotiate pricing and contracts with carriers and clients to ensure competitive rates.

  • Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and non-vessel operating common carriers (NVOCC) to facilitate smooth operations.

  • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and other relevant industry standards.

  • Perform data entry tasks related to shipment tracking, dispatching, and logistics documentation.

  • Provide support in logistics sales, including identifying opportunities for upselling services.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in freight forwarding or logistics sales is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of supply chain processes, transportation management, and logistics operations.

  • Familiarity with CRM software and EDI systems for efficient data management.

  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and carriers.

  • Knowledge of pricing strategies, contracts, and freight regulations.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate data entry and reporting.
