Accounting Manager

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day finance operations and manage a small team of accountants. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, a hands-on approach to financial reporting, and experience in multi-entity environments. This role is ideal for professionals with audit and in-house finance experience who are now ready to take ownership of accounting processes and help drive efficiency and compliance across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes across local and international entities
• Prepare and review management accounts, financial statements, and statutory filings (IFRS / GAPSME)
• Oversee VAT and tax submissions, ensuring compliance in multiple jurisdictions
• Lead and mentor a team of junior accountants, supporting training and development
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies (MFSA, MBR, etc.)
• Review and improve accounting processes and internal controls

• Maintain accurate records intercompany

   transactions and reconciliations
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
• Contribute to automation and optimisation projects in reporting and data management
• Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and group finance teams

Requirements

• Professional qualification: ACCA qualified or equivalent (CPA, MIA, etc.)

• Minimum 3 years of accounting and finance experience, ideally with exposure to audit

• Solid understanding of IFRS, VAT, and financial regulations

• Proven experience managing teams or mentoring junior staff

• Proficient in accounting systems such as SAP, Navision, NetSuite, or similar

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders

• Advanced Excel skills; experience with automation tools or business intelligence systems is a plus

• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

• Experience in the financial services, gaming, or tech sector is considered an asset
