IT Operations Engineer
Amega is seeking to hire an IT Operations Engineer. It’s a highly collaborative position, who will be working in a compact and highly versatile team where the variety of challenges and possibility to apply or develop your skills is really high. The role will combine some operational tasks, such as website operations, systems uptime, incidents management, etc., with those, which require architecture expertise and creativity (for example, evaluation of a new technology or integration with 3rd party provider).
Main Activities and Responsibilities:
- Architect and operate production and development IT infrastructure components such as AWS (EC2, S3, CloudFront, etc.), email gateways (Sendgrid), and some others
- Participate in or manage projects owned by the IT Department
- Monitor IT performance metrics (KPIs) such as website response time
- Manage databases (MySQL, Postgres)
- Implement services monitoring and logging
- Design and maintain CI/CD for the solutions developed (based on Github)
- Works on various processes automation (based on Make.com or custom scripts)
- Provide automation tools, which would simplify work of developers
- Manage backups
- Carry out reporting functions and data analysis
- Update internal knowledge base and operational documentation updates
- Participate in incidents review and their root cause analysis, identify process issues and plan preventive measures
Requirements:
- 3-5 years experience in IT Engineering or Analyst or Developer roles
- Knowledge of technologies such as Linux/Windows OS, databases, some programming or scripting languages, virtualization, networks, Cloud (AWS or GCP). Deep expertise is required in one of these areas, but general understanding or awareness - in wide spectrum of modern technologies
- Experience with database support (MySQL, Postgres)
- Able to quickly embrace new technology, evaluate it’s value and applicability in a certain business case
- Any scripting languages (Powershell, Bash, Python, etc.) and / or programming basics
- Containerization (Docker)
- In-depth experience with any task tracker tool (Jira, ClickUp, etc.)
- Data collection and analysis:
- Mastering Excel or Google Sheets (pivots, charts, formulas)
- General understanding of data processing (ETL)
- Able to write SQL queries
Skills:
- Able to work under pressure and carry out multiple assignments
- Analytical, autonomous and proactive personality
- Good listener and communicator
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Would be a plus:
- IT Security fundamentals
- Experience with one of the orchestration platforms (i.e. Kubernetes)
- Expertise in any of BI tools (PowerBI, Tableau, BigQuery, Metabase, etc.)
- ITSM and project management knowledge
- Any industry certifications
